One of Dacascos' best roles (Up there with I Am Omega) and Kadeem Hardison needs to be in more films. Great precursor to the Rush Hour series.

This flick has the same Asian Martial Arts guy + Wisecracking Black guy formula as the Rush Hour movies, except it's actually funny and the action is fantastic (and Drive was made first). Probably the best martial arts movie ever made in the USA, no exaggeration. Brittany Murphy's breathy Lolita character is a treat.

The plot is very minimal, but as action films go this is a ignored gem, with moments of incredible stunt choreography, a great sense of humour and a sense of imagination, even in the bizarre TV drama about a genius toad that the villains watch. It is sad that Mark Dacascos never got a better career, as this shows that he was far better than most as an action star, not only in his charisma and amazing physical agility but the fact that he can actually act.

This is a good film with the right mixture of comedy and action. Ok the story line is not really up to much but the fight scenes were really good. It makes a change for America to get a Martial Arts film right but they managed it with this. I thought it was funnier than Rush Hour (this was made first).

Way too much jumping and kicking. Martial arts movies just suck.

Director's cut. Great martial arts moves by Mark Davascos. Unfortunately the plot and my interest gets progressively worse. Had a proto-Rush Hour dynamic but RH has a better comedic duo---Chris Tucker really did a lot of heavy lifting since Jackie Chan can't dialog. I never understood why Dacascos needed Kadeem Hardison around or Brittany Murphy around. Not enough actual driving. Fav scene: fighting while handcuffed to Hardison. I could watch Dacascos barrel roll around all day.
