Dudes, simply saying "dude" or "sweet" does not constitute a joke. Extremely stupid comedies sometimes go over the proverbial edge and emerge as weirdly intelligent and funny satires. Zoolander is a good example of that. Dude Where's My Car, however, is not. This is just dumb, and only sporadically and moderately funny.

I never remember this movie being very good and it still isn't. There were definitely some funny parts in the movie but those parts couldn't save this form being just boring. I wouldn't call it a complete waste of time. It is more like a time capsule of late early millennium comedy. But, that comedy hasn't aged well in many ways. I wouldn't recommend watching this unless you are writing a book about the era.

Maybe it’s because of Kutcher but I just didn’t find this to be all that funny. It of course has a lot of jokes attempted so some are bound to land and SWS is doing his best but ya doesn’t work for me. It definitely has a very weird pace in comparison to other of the era. A movies that’s tooo the year 2000 if you get that

I had a really good -- surprisingly good, in fact -- time with Dude, Where's My Car?. Most of the jokes worked, and I ended up laughing out loud, instead of just giggling, a few times. Granted, it's completely forgettable and the low-intelligence jokes will not impress some, but since the plot isn't propelled by stupidity, but instead simply contains stupid, yet charming, people, I had a blast.

Ok, the jokes are mostly stupid, but Kutcher and Scott are are completely charming doofuses with great chemistry. Plus even if the jokes aren't the best the set pieces are still mostly fun. Starts out kinda rough but comes together as all of the craziness escalates.

"And then?" Stoner comedy is passably amusing and benefits from endearingly goofy performances from Kutcher and Scott (undemanding as they may be). The unexpected sci-fi bordering on surrealist elements are the most intriguing; though half-baked in delivery (pun somewhat intended), they do indicate that the film at one stage may have wanted to travel in a more ambitious direction. Extra points for its value as a time capsule of the late 90s-early aughts.

For some reason my dad thinks the tattoo scene ("DUUUUDE!" "SWEEEEET!") is hysterical. My dad is almost 70 with no recognizable sense of humor. This movie is shit on a stick with nary a laugh to be found.

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure for a new generation. I'm down. It's dumb fun with a lot of surprisingly funny lines and scenes. It might be hard to watch it a first time, because you fear the stupidity, but it's more clever that some might expect. Meh!

Generally mindless and just too clean to be as crazy as it attempts, this is still brought up by occasional scenes and cameos that do work (Fabio makeout contest, attack ostriches, Andy Dick's Python-esque prisoner), but the numerous attempts at comedy through repetition generally fall flat. I'd probably watch a full movie about Penny the Impound Officer.

I used to love this as a kid, unfortunately it doesn't hold up very well. None of the gags are funny, they are mostly just annoying. Jesse and Chester are unbelievably stupid, "unbelievable" being the keyword there. The actual plot is equally as stupid and unbelievable. Aliens, continum transfuctioner, giant half naked girl, really? Maybe they should have just stuck with the lost car. I really don't get why I used to like it, everyone in the movie is really annoying.
