There is a significant concern for me about the film's depiction of the male-male sexual relationship, which could be described as homophobic depending on how you view the entire film, but this does not take away from the qualities of this one-off in British cinema, a surreal take on sexual relationships (possibly in the main character's own head) that stands out in its uniqueness.
