Not to much to say here. It is what it is. A horrible movie. It isn't a romantic comedy, so don't trick yourself into thinking that it could be a date movie. Now I can see DeVito's fingerprints all over this movie since the theme of it reminds me a little of an Always Sunny Philly episode. It just wasn't funny. I think I called the ending about 20 minutes into the movie. Imagine watching this and Gray Matters during one weekend? It is not something I would wish on my worst enemy.

Somewhat entertaining.

Ho-Hum, with a few funny moments.

It's not a funny movie. It's mostly just unfortunate guy has miserable times kind of humor which doesn't appeal to me at all. The film's only redeeming quality is how simply evil the old lady upstairs is. She pulls some incredibly clever pranks on Ben Stiller's character. It's interesting a little, but not a good movie. It's really something you should probably skip.

This is the kind of movie that you feel should be funny. You want to laugh, it seems like they're doing it right. There's just something missing that makes it fall short, I still can't figure out what it is.

With each successive scene, the gags become cruder and much more violent, until it gets to the point where the humor not only stops, but unease and anger begins to bubble up to the surface.

Occasionally funny, but like most Ben Stiller comedies the awkward ineptitude gets to be too much to take after a while.

This absurd and dry romantic comedy is different enough to merit a viewing, but probably not more than one. Meh!

Stiller turns in the umpteenth "awkward situation" guy movie. Enough is enough (but not really cause there are many more after this.

Ben Stiller & Drew Barrymore have great chemistry together. I liked this movie and I found it hilarious. They buy a building that has an older tenant living in a rent controlled apartment. They want her gone but she wants them gone so you can probably imagine the lengths that they might go to in order to rid each other from the building.

Perfect choices for leads and what can I say, my style of comedy!

I live for dark humor, and I couldn't stand this horrible movie.

A surprisingly funny little comedy about an annoying neighbor. Sure it's kinda dumb but it makes you laugh.

What's that you say? Another formulaic offering starring Ben Stiller? Not exactly. You see, in this one, he's already married to the girl. But if you change that one detail, it's the same film...again.

Dark comedy with some pretty funny gags and events, I believe it would have been a lot better if it was a little raunchier than PG rated. The three main characters are good, probably the biggest deterrent is a rather predictable script.

Felt like a made for tv movie. Pretty bad considering the actors in it have made very good films.

My memory of this film was that it was slow-moving and more likely to appeal to New Yorkers who could relate to the circumstances. I recall counting down the minutes til it was over. It had it's moments, but the wait wasn't worth it.

J'ai suffisamment rigolé pour rester sur une impression positive de bonne comédie Américaine. La vieille dame est très drôle, et tout ce qui est censé servir au concept, est réussi. Les scènes d'hystérie, les chutes, le perroquet, les seconds-rôles. La recette idéale. Ben Stiller m'a plu dans son rôle, en revanche je n'ai pas compris la résilience finale sur le banc. Je note aussi que certains contrastes d'ambiance ressemblent à du Tim Burton.

At some points, this is actually a little more painful than it is entertaining to watch. It actually made me think killing an old lady is sometimes justified. Not good.

Not THAT bad. It's an alright watch if you're really bored. Don't watch this if you hate black comedy.

Awful and absolutely annoying

Not my type of comedy.

One of those anything that can go wrong does go wrong movies; it's hard to watch. I'm just not into it.

About ten years ago, I caught this film on cable during the day. Suffice it to say, it is the reason I can't stand Ben Stiller.

Actually quite fun, and the granny is fabulous - man, it's her first role in a film!

Entertainment 6/4 -- seriously one of the funniest movies my wife and I have ever seen. Spirit 1/3. Sustainability 0.5/3.

For some reason the film was too disturbing (cruelty?) for me to enjoy it as a comedy. I liked the ending, though
