Quite handsomely photographed, and perhaps I should be identifying success in the following, but for me there was something unsavoury about this depiction of an environment of oppression and alienation from everything important. Briefly looking into the director's work, she appears interested in uncompromising material, which is good. I guess it's a problem that depicting this sort of material accurately is intended not to endow pleasure, as such, upon its audience.
