The truth is out: not even communists could get the trains to run on time! Does a good job of making you feel like you're there but the security cameras thing is more laughable than anything else.

A common theme in Kieslowski documentary shorts: the inefficiency of the factory, the inefficiency of the hospital, and the inefficiency of the train station. This is the shortest but oddly the least compelling, perhaps because Kieslowski returns again and again to the security cameras, usually punctuated by ominous kettle drums on the soundtrack. It's far too obvious, although the final scene of the man monitoring the cameras does form a nice parallel to the filmmaker himself.

The montage of (non)happenings in the station mirrors Kieslowski's documentary work as a whole, which often includes people waiting on the government. Splicing in video cameras throughout and setting those shots to ominous music comes off clunky and obvious. That said, the camera are only there as a set up for the final shot of the man taking notes on people he sees, as if he actually knows them through cameras alone, thus validating the ultimate failure of any documentary enterprise.
