The beginning was incredibly hokey. The chemistry between Will and Erin is not there, but the movie -- like Will -- redeems itself. Sam ends up giving an understated performance as Will and it becomes a genuine tale of redemption; subtle and affecting and not like Hollywood which is very blunt.
