The MGM version of the rise of inventor Thomas Edison with a respectable performance from Spencer Tracy. Pretty straightforward approach with the ups and downs of inventing and his relations to investors. Almost surprised they didn't make more out of Edison's contribution of the motion picture industry considering how much Hollywood loves to glamorize itself, but at least the sound recording and the light bulb got a lot of focus and help spotlight the great man's importance to the modern world.
