I know my score says 'bad', but it really isn't. If you are in the mood for an old fashion, late-night feature, this would fit the bill. Low-budget and goofy, but rather entertaining.

Maybe I've become desensitized in my old age, but to me this is a pretty basic monster movie you'd be able to find on any drive-in screen in the era. And for that it's perfect, but to claim more is rather misleading.

A guy who looks like Sheldon Leonard goes around staring at people, then he turns into this weird brainsucking demon with a long pointy nose and lobster claws.

Not as bad as you'd assume a low budget 60s horror movie would be.

O Barão do Terror estreava há 60 anos no México. Esse filme pega bem pesado no plágio, especialmente de A máscara do demônio, mas é uma diversão garantida de pouco mais de uma hora. Box Versátil Obras-primas do Terror Horror Mexicano Volume 2.

Not a gothic horror, although it starts in 1661 when Baron Vitelius is sentenced to death by burning. He vows to return 300 years later (in 60's Mexico) to take his vengeance on the descendants of Inquisitors. Abel Salazar does a good job as the Baron, but the film loses all credibility when he morphs into a cheap looking monster with a long tongue. It has its campy charms, but even with a 80min runtime there's too much repetition both in plot as well as e.g. shots of Baron's shining eyes.
