The kind of movie that keeps you thinking throughout its entirety, and still trying to figure things out after it ends. Very intelligently told.

First half is good, then it gets rather confusing. But having to think is not so bad if you think about it.

I once suggested to my mother that architects are people who wish to obtain control and mastery over the arrangement of bodies in domestic space. Her rejoinder to this was to propose the notion that they may on the contrary be people who wish to construct the perfect womb. This film seems to partake somewhat in both of these ideas. Unfortunately, it is just a bit too silly.

The first hour is pretty gripping thriller/home invasion horror stuff, with a wonderful buildup, good use of sound and a moody atmosphere. After that, the movie and main character go into an unexpected direction that almost wrecks the whole thing but at the same time kept me glued to the screen. Pretty crazy, but original and tense too. It's as if someone thought "What if we made the ending of Bin-jip into an entire movie?".

Overall Enjoyment: 25/40, Plot/Themes: 15/20, Cinematography/Direction: 10/20, Acting/Writing: 15/20 Without ruining the plot I just want to say this movie's plot is far more complex than what is mentioned in any brief synopsis. It starts as a pretty standard horror and then moves into the realm of Hitchcock-esque films. Definitely worth a watch.

Starts off slow, gets creepy, gets crazy, the jumps into wtf before ending with a gah. The scene before the party was brilliantly done, and the movie is worth a watch just for that. One question, though: what is it with European films and masturbation?

Just watch it for the birthday surprise. Brilliantly done. That scene is the essence of this movie.

I found the idea of someone undetected being in your house distressing. Andoni Gracia did a great job showing the main character slowly unwinding. He made a lot of choices I found irritating, but I think that was the point. This film has a lot of great ideas. However, I think it fails to tie them all together and ends in an unfulfilling way.
