Emanuelle and the Last Cannibals

Every once in a while I think I've stooped to about as low as I can with cannibal movies, and then this pops up. There's a lesbians bathing in the river scene that is juxtaposed with an ape smoking a cigarette because this is amazing. One of the first movies I've seen featuring actual jungle jungle fever.

The sex scenes are all uninteresting, the direction and acting are embarrassingly terrible. Oh yeah, the cannibals, disappointing.

Need to rewatch, don't take this score too seriously.

Excruciating. Never has sex looked more dirty and ugly. And I'm not even talking about the horror elements

The Zach Snyders of the world should look at this film. Exploiting the audience's need to see nude women in exotic locations need not be a joyless excercise in filmmaking as "the luchino Visconti of sleaze' : Joe D'Amato proves here. Laura Gemser plays a liberated woman who is, if anything sex positive about her sex adventures in the Amazon. It might be silly but there is thought put into the filmmaking choices here, where there is less and in mainstream films made by the likes of Zach Snyder
