Wow, 2 and a half hours of star wars shit. But i love star wars. shit.

For Christ's sake! It's a documentary on Star Wars! You can't NOT like this. You'll go to hell if you do. Check your Bible.

The story is fascinating, though fans have probably heard a lot of it before. It's very clearly funded by Lucas, though, and I'd have appreciated a more candid approach. Lol @ the end, too. "You know, it's ironic, that Star Wars kind of made me what I hate. But whatever!"

Any movie nerd of my generation has heard and heard about this story, and this documentary plays like a giant infomercial besides. It's still fun

A fairly well-made and entertaining documentary packed full of neat trivia and behind-the-scenes info, although it is an "official" venture, so it can be a little bloodless, and definitely don't expect the real interesting dirt.

It's well-paced, and I found the interviews enjoyable.

Empire of Dreams is one of the most comprehensive and honest accounts of the making of a cultural phenomenon. It may be long and heavy on the detail. The presentation is so magnetic that you'll hardly realize that 2 and a half hours have gone by.

Obviously told through George Lucas' prospective. Carrie Fisher is a delightful interviewee who doesn't take it seriously at all.

Needed more anecdotes like the one about Brian de Palma talking massive amounts of shit about Star Wars to Lucas' face after the initial screening, as well as encompassing the prequels (which would double the length, but it's like poetry, it rhymes).

Some decent information on Star Wars so if you're a fan, you should like it.

As a documentary this is a great insight into the Star Wars universe. If you love Star Wars this is a must, if you're not too keen on the films there is still enough here to find interesting on a technical level as well as some pretty honest insights into the world of film making. Worth watching

For a diehard original star wars fan, this doc really is that good.

Decent enough behind the scenes shlock, but it falls flat as criticising Lucas's directorial views and its failures made apparent with the prequel trilogy.
