The title says it all. There's a mix up involving stolen diamonds which Ernest has (naturally) made into a yo-yo and given to his would be girlfriend, Rene. But Rene wants a man of action, and doesn't think that Ernest fits the bill. After the bad guys come looking for the stolen diamonds and kidnap Rene, all of her fantasies come true as Ernest has to go to Africa to rescue her.

Four on-screen murders, sexual torture, and rampant racism in the form of tired stereotypes and C-list Hollywood actors in blackface. In other words, fun for the whole family!

Hey Vern, I brought you back some presents from my trip to Africa. I got a monkey's paw, a shrunken head, and this jar of mosquitoes. Ooh come on now, don't you want any of the souvenirs I got while filming my eighth, and latest straight-to-video movie. Vern, as always you're gonna love it. Nothing like that hack Jim Carrey's movie "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls"(1995), but a culturally sensitive comedy about a clueless buffoon in Africa-knowhatimean

I'm an unapologetic Ernest fan but this is a terrible movie. The only funny bit I can remember is where Ernest drops his goldfish in the garbage disposal by accident.

Terrible editing, terrible acting, terrible direction--in fact, the only word you can describe this movie with is terrible or synonyms of, but somehow it appeals to any of those who grew up in the 80's-90's in a primal sort of manner, especially because of Ernest's alter egos.

This is a really bad movie. There is one character that is down right offensive. There are very few laughs and the film definitely has a low budget cheesiness to it.

The VHS cover often got me curious when I was a kid at the rental store. I guess maybe it is better for people remembering the ads on tv?? Or for kids? Because to me it was not good.

Only decent part is "what up dog?" Aside from that it's terrible.

I only watched this hoping it would be Ernest Goes Native and be hilariously un-PC but wth the exception of jive talk joke and Ernest in brown face there's nothing here
