Ernest Rides Again

Such a shame, the poster suggests this might be one of the best Ernest adventures yet, the opening credit song even backs it up. It’s kinda funny how many times Ernest gets shot at in 90 minutes.

In my fifth movie, the last one to be released in theaters, I learned all about true American history, not just that no-taxation-without-representation jazz, but about a gigantic cannon and the Crown jewels of England, so what more American way to celebrate our victory over the British, than with some good ole fashion, bombs bursting in air-knowhatimean

Seriously, was Jim Varney independently wealthy, who kept paying for these films to be made?

If I was still 11 years old I would have rated these Ernest movies much higher. But seeing it years later just makes me sad. :( If you loved these movies as a kid and decide to stroll down memory lane, please take my advice, don't do it.
