Erskineville Kings

A huge part of the movie was hurt by the choice of the lead actor in my opinion. It could have been way more poignant if I had not been annoyed every time the man came on screen. He reminded me of some 40 years old pretending to be a teenager for some corny PSA against drugs, and took me out during the emotional moments. Because, otherwise, the landscape and the story could have been of interest.

An alright film, but nothing particularly memorable about it. The story progresses ok, but it's not really that captivating and is a little contrived (I think the film needed to be a bit longer to develop some more). The acting is quite good and the dialogue realistic. It's surprisingly 'slick' for an Australian film, so it's nice to look at as well.
