Raymond Mak is a despicable stock trader who gets handed a day from Hell. First he's fired by his boss and then he's robbed. Raymond already has a new job lined up across the harbour, but getting from Wanchai to Tsimshatsui requires at least three dollars for the ferry, or more for the MTR or a taxi. But without any cash or ID, Raymond will have to call in a favor or two. (imdb)

It's a whole lot of fun for the first hour but slowly slips into a saccharine melodrama. The epiphany was obvious from the beginning. How much did the camera cost? Real cheap looking.

This could have been a really funny satire of Hong Kong urban life, but it feels underwhelming and seems to coast on its premise without actually trying to be interesting or having any good jokes. That it ends up as a syrupy feelgood film goes against the premise and shows how flawed the whole film is.
