I'm obviously not the target audience for this, and the three little kids I took to see it certainly seemed taken in by the simplistic story and flashy 3D. The film continues a new trend in 3D which I quite enjoy -- faking a letterbox frame so as to let things splash right out of the frame. It means well, has a couple solid laughs and couple nods to the adult crowd -- sadly, all too few, but what's there was appreciated. Fraser's natural overt enthusiasm makes for great voice work. Good on him.

Blahhh, This was dumb, very dumb. It was kind of like a mash up of Planet 51 & Monsters vs. Aliens strained through a Nick Jr. TV Show but not even as good as that sounds. Boring visuals, crappy story, lame script, mediocre voice work and shitty soundtrack. Not even Brendan Fraser &/or William Shatner could save this one. All of the jokes, winks and nods at pop culture fell flat and sucked.

I laughed twice, but they were good laughs. Still, that's not enough to sustain this unexciting and largely forgettable flick. It's kinda cute as you're watching it, but Pixar - even lesser Pixar - it ain't.

Escape From Planet 7-11. Feels like a Saturday morning cartoon, down to the tween soundtrack. Occasional cartoony effects feel out of place (yes I know it's a cartoon, but generally it doesn't have them. It's like having a laugh track for 1 1/2 minutes of a sitcom) and they throw in a few "hey adults, a joke kids won't get!" moments but the tone over all doesn't aim that way. Doesn't quite know what it is. What it is is not bad, but not great by any means

Colourfully animated alien-themed cartoon suffers from generic characters and a dull script that is filled to the brim with sight gags and potty humour. Kids won't mind that it doesn't strive for the high artistic levels of the best animated efforts, but adults will find it mind-numbing. Just for the kids.

Nothing wrong with animating, but the story and characters had anything interesting on them. Just a fade shadow of Buzz Lightyear.

Imagine Monsters, Inc. crossed with Titan A.E. and Escape with the charming whack-job humor humor of Brendan Fraser of The Mummy! Escape From Planet Earth felt like the kind of great production quality you'd get from Pixar or Disney!

the plastic textures and alien technology were visually interesting, but the plot was dull, the voice acting sucked for ost characters, an the character design was unappealing.

Family movie before bed, and they'd selected Escape from Planet Earth (2013). A very simple and safe animation film about aliens coming to earth. I guess it did the trick. While not great, it put a smile on our faces. Just don't go in expecting anything more than that.
