Has some issues, from pacing to acting, but for the most part the story makes up for it by being pretty compelling. Great ending, though, which left me with an overall positive impression.

Revolution for the Turkish Cinema in it's day, still has it's glory. Time has blessed it with a few flaws but still a great watch (except the acting, Şener Şen is breathtaking but the rest of the cast isn't that good).

Nothing much new here, dredging up a lot of the usual motifs, but it does a decent job of pulling you in and manages a certain freshness despite the familiarity of the material. Some of the larger dramatic scenes are painfully clichéd, but it's pieced together nicely and has some pretty good character moments. Sener Sem is a likeable fellow, and his rapport with Ugur Yucel works well. Overall it's a somewhat mediocre film, but quite watchable with flashes of potential.

Feels largely indifferent for the first two act, but the great third act saves a lot. Good performance in the lead.

largely credited with the renaissance of turkish cinema in 90s, eskıya is blessed with unprecedented production values, a smart, touching script and impeccable acting from Sen, who's arguably the best actor in Turkey. Turgul's fluid storytelling coupled with some solid cinematography is also worth mentioning. Best of 90's turkish cinema.

Considering when this film was made (pre 2000), this is a very cool movie. Just add it to your wish list and watch it one time. You won't be disappointed.
