Doesn't make much of a point, but it's entertaining. Svankmajer's use of mixed media is delightful.

I also liked the animated cut out illustrations from books, but the stories were nothing special. Visuals were well done though.

Interesting concept to take illustrations from books and animate them, but has the same faults as most of Svankmajer's other work, the most important being that it has no value other than purely visual.

beautiful. not my favorite from Svankmajer, but you can feel his brilliance in this Escher-esque animation of looped forms and old books styled illustrations.

Of all the Svankmajer films I can recall this is perhaps his least characteristic. Some familiar themes are evident, but this short doesn't go anywhere interesting.
