The story of every creative artist's struggle for recognition. Worth watching for Jason Tam's audition alone.

This is a documentary about auditions for the new production of Chorus Line on Broadway. The film mirrors the plot of the musical. That is, all the unknowns you see auditioning in the film "really (*really*) need this job". You get to know and care for some of them over the course of the film, and there is real suspense leading up to the revelation of who is chosen to join the chorus line.

"An entertaining behind-the-scenes look at the casting process of the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line, Every Little Step turns on two perfectly-executed narrative strategies." - Andrew Schenker

Reality TV has squandered the great impulse toward cultural-political exploration by turning democracy and the documentary into bread and circuses. This tragedy defeats Every Little Step, the first doc to chronicle A Chorus Line's creation.
