Everybody's Everything

These immediate posthumous music docs can sometimes end up feeling a bit like scattered fanfare. While I think this at times suffers from that, his grandfathers beautiful letters and perspective elevate this to something pretty touching. You can really see the light in Peep's eyes despite the artificial world around him.

This was my introduction to Lil Peep. It's hard to criticize a dead kid, but I truly don't understand the hype surrounding his music. I tried. I wanted to. I could see glimmers of potential, but ultimately, he was just too young (barely 21) to make anything terribly profound. Like Bieber, he was pretty, and I think that's where most of his success came from. That aside, the film is well made. Kind of similar to Montage of Heck, but lacking in much of a story.
