The clumsy military cadet Stanley Coopersmith is orphan and completely outcast in the West Andover Academy. He is frequently abused and humiliated by four despicable mates, and has a bad treatment from his teachers, the coach, the colonel and even from the local reverend. When Coopersmith finds a book of black mass that belonged to the evil medieval Father Esteban, he uses a computer to conjure Satan and revenge his harassers. (imdb)

I really thought based on the poster that I was going to be watching something that resembled The Lawnmower Man. I was mistaken. It's a Carrie clone in a lot of ways but it also occasionally delivers some gory surprises along with some nudity for those of you not sated by Clint Howard's weird big head. The General from Predator plays Sarge who goes full rapist before doing a spine breaking version of the twist.

Clint Howard gets to star in this generic revenge movie with an interesting 80's Satanic horror tech premise. The film is fairly middle of the road throughout, being mostly just a slow build up of Clint Howard stuck impersonating "Carrie"(1976). However, it doesn't end up with "Coopersmith" as the prom king covered in pigs blood, but instead going demonic "John Wick"(2014) flying around a burning church covered in blood swinging a sword decapitating people while others get eaten by pigs.

_Carrie_ goes to West Point in this watchable, if derivative, shocker. Some flashy direction (like a severed head in a satanic flashback sequence becoming the soccer ball in a school game in an amazing cut) and a campy cast (though Howard is about 10 years too old for his role -- check out the receding hairline) make this nice, sick fun.

Very, very silly indeed. Clint Howard is reasonably watchable, and the central premise is interesting, if clumsily handled. This was one of the films branded a "video nasty" in the UK back in the day, but despite the gory climax and theme of Satanism it feels pretty tame by today's standards. Nothing seems to happen for ages. It perhaps tries to draw from the far superior Carrie, but ends up little more than a colourful curiosity. Maybe one for fans of Satan, Howard, and man-eating pigs only.

Levitating Clint Howard with a Satan sword is exactly the kind of energy I need in my life. And to the mini-reviewer who said Clint Howard is 10 years too old for the role, do you honestly think the character is supposed to be 12-years-old? I know he looks kind of odd, but Clint Howard was only 22 in this

Evilspeak had an interesting idea (the conjuring of demons using a computer), but it was, unfortunately, very poorly made. The movie drags on for far too long, and then degenerates into a blatant Carrie rip-off near the end.

Skip every scene where you dont see evil hogs or sense their presence. This friggin movie wields the last name Coopersmith as recklessly as one can, every other line of dialogue is peppered with Coopersmith. There was what felt like a 10 minute scene where the only dialogue was "Coopersmith?"

Its a pretty silly movie and Clint Howard looks even stranger with hair. The computer angle didn't work for me and it wasn't used that much aside for screen text. It tasks a long time to get going and that's the film's biggest detriment.

The plot has quite a slow build and a few ridiculous elements, but the last 10 minutes or so is where all the good stuff is.

Mediocre supernatural slasher. Clint Howard's performance is the only reason to watch it, and even that isn't really enough to make it worthwhile.

The computer aspect of this, which is unfortunately its entire gimmick, is really stupid. Like, annoyingly stupid. Thankfully, there is some enjoyment to be had with everything else- Clint Howard delivers a strong performance, the atmosphere & aesthetic of the military school are nice, & the rest of the cast is solid. The finale feels a bit rushed, but the chaos that ensues is fun. My biggest question is, where did those random girls in the pageant come from? Overall, passes the time.

Evilspeak is a movie that honestly has some really good ideas, and starts fairly strong but fails terribly in a myriad of different ways. It becomes an hour and twenty minutes of Clint Howard being cucked followed by ten minutes of a loud repetitive song with people dying. Clint Howard honestly was not fit for this role at all, it was a terrible decision. I can't tell you how many times I heard 'Coopersmith' being said in this movie. Nice try guys.
