Awesome , gore , hilarous.

This movie is sometimes referred to as 'the belgian trainspotting'. A shocking, cynical, depressing, sometimes very funny piece of belgian cinema about the biggest losers and most disgusting low-lifes one could possibly imagine. The movie got a lot of media attention because of the very expliciet language, violence and sex scenes. You either hate it or love it. The film is visually very impressive and is accompanied by a cool rock'n roll soundtrack written by belgian's finest.

Epitome of try hard.

Weird story. Now I understand the link with 'trainspotting'. A story about a bunch of fucked up nolifes, and the weird thing is.. It's actually a pretty good story, with some nice visuals and camerawork.

Tries too hard to be edgy and outrageous, and loses much of the humor that the book had. Still, it's at least interesting.

I don't think that you have to either hate or love that movie. It is a very explicit but nevertheless very well done piece of art and can be viewed and interpreted as such. But I can understand that it stirrs up emotions. However, seeing myself that this movie can be viewed with some distance, tells me that I should watch "Trainspotting" again, a movie which I - guess what - hated...

Tries to be edgy... the use of gimmicks exceeds everything else which prevents it to actually be good...

Not my cup of thea. Wondered that is was Belgian actually, something this disgusting usually comes from the Netherlands. Compliments for the camera man though, pictures where beautiful! (sounds ironic i know :p)

Another big PSI miss. Supposed to be a T8. The intro is intriguing, after that it goes downhill very fast. Also, it is an insult to reference this movie to Trainspotting.

Outrageous, visceral, offensive, experimental, interesting, stylish, and one hell of a watch.

Soundtrack is right on, and I really things like the guy living upside down. The "gimmicks." The images in this can be pretty incredible at times as well. With that said, the movie left me cold a lot. I understand that these people are supposed to be unlovable scum, and they are, but where's the motive to give a shit what they do next? I only cared occasionally. The plot was okay but not great. Still, recommendation due to the other things I praised. And points to it going as far as it did.

This film was absolutely amazing. It clearly referenced many films, such as Trainspotting. Clearly demented and very refreshing film, simply because I like things warped.

Conflates being shocking with being good, though the soundtrack and some of the visuals were quality.

A film so desperately self-conscious that it becomes two-hour gimmick of a punk requiem. Well below average in every regard, except for its usefulness in illustrating the smug superiority of post-modern cinema. Watch it with two barf bags: one for the trying-too-hard gross-out scenes, and one for how utterly awful it is as a piece of cinema.

Blood and shit and meh

Çok farklı olmayı denemeye çalışıyormuş gibi gözükse bile film harika bir mizansen üzerine kurulu. Eski bir rock yıldızının, rapsodi hayatından, alt kesim insanları sömürerek kendini nasıl tatmin ettiğini salt bir sinema anlayışı ile anlatmış. Tipik bir Flemen filmi olarak film aşırı seksüel kültür ve mizojeni içermekte.

It starts really really good and goes on like that for about an hour but totally loses it in the final act. At least from my point of view it does.. Could have been a classic like Trainspotting but misses it..

Great Movie

It's a really impressive technical achievement with some really kick-ass roaring punk rock music (the cover of Devo's "Mongoloid" is worth the price of admission), but it mostly just feels like an exercise in severe provocation. I enjoyed it to whatever degree one can, but I wouldn't exactly recommend it.

Ex Drummer is doomed to be hated or loved. I'm on the hate side this time. The story is thin as air, and even that is an exageration. The point or goal of the story is pointless, they don't want to build on something or they don't give any theme for the movie. The Adaption of the book is sometimes to literal (some of the monologues seem to be too artificial). ... But Koen Mortier does show talent and guts with some cool shots and some very explicit scenes.

Have to give it a few points for its unique story telling and some cool visual stuff. Other than that I didnt find much to appreciate in this movie. Violence and sex just for the sake of it.
