Very bleak and brutal italocrime which is directed by Steno, who would later make a bunch of Bud Spencer comedies. This one is very serious and contains scenes that are still shocking. It would actually feel more at home in e.g. Sergio Sollima's filmography. It shares themes with "Magnum Force" but was actually made before that the Dirty Harry sequel. Salerno lacks the charisma of e.g. Maurizio Merli or Franco Nero, but he fits the role very well and makes the film feel even more realistic.
