Whatever social message the film is trying to make gets canceled out by the terrible execution.

Lex Luther heads a conspiracy to find a cure for spinal injuries... hmmm... Dreadful but does deserve some credit for the uncanny way the director makes paraplegics intrinsically threatening by their association with the film's conspiracy plot.

Some interesting themes and good performances by Grant, Parker & Hackman. The script lacks tension though and it all gets very silly at points ("mole people", really?)

This rather silly movie attempts to explore questions of the ethics of medical research, but seems to come to a very ambivalent conclusion in relation to these questions. As a piece of generic entertainment, it suffers from a distinct lack of mystery: from an early point the viewer knows what is going on, why it is going on, and who is responsible. Thus the narrative unfolds with almost absolute predictability.

I think I've seen this about 10 times on TV and have forgotten it every time. Despite what it tries to do it just ends up being goofy. Extra points for a non-romcom-Grant.

Really crappy. I've seen it a couple of times and on both occasions completely forgotten about it! That should tell you everything you need to know about this disaster. I did however manage to establish that Hugh Grant is shit in this movie, during the brief periods where I wasn't projectile vomiting at Sarah Jessica Parker's face.

Bit of a rip off of "Coma" and no where near as good.

It was one of those movies that you would watch just once and then, you would be done with it. Nothing great when compared with other movies in this genre.

A thriller that takes extreme measures to be average.

Surprisingly good before it turns into a movie that can’t figure out what it wants to be.
