Fais-moi plaisir!

Please, Please Me! is an odd film. In part a farcical comedy of errors full of slapstick, & partly a riff on 70's era Danish erotic cinema. The cinematography seems to favour claustrophobic medium shots & saturated colours; combined with the soundtrack equivalent of a laugh-track, stylistically the film feels quite old-fashioned. Admittedly I laughed at a few gags (elevator, vase) but it all quickly becomes cringeworthy. The plot verges on nonsensical, but strangely the film is still watchable.
