Family

A pretty mediocre bonding type movie that doesn't do anything special, save for a depiction of one of the most interesting fan communities out there. I can't make a single ICP song, and I don't like their music, but something about the juggalos facinates me, Taylor Schilling on the other hand, kind of irritates me.

Zero laughs, but not the worst femcom I've seen this year. Taylor Schilling does have some chops as a lead.

Family actually ticks a lot of indie-movie boxes (which usually annoys the crap out of me), but it somehow also manages to transcend the cliches and become its very own thing. The main duo is fantastic, and their progression throughout the movie is also beautifully realized and very satisfying. And despite being very funny, it's never dehumanizing; characters are made fun of, but in such a relatable way that the joke is on everyone rather than just on them.

Totally realistic modern-day family drama.

The two leads and the story were funny. The side characters were way too ridiculous.
