Ridiculously below-average at every turn. There's already a good Fantastic Four movie, and it's called The Incredibles.

Not very slick as it could have been, Fantastic Four is interesting and entertaining nonetheless, but the characters just aren't interesting enough to care much more (at first that is) and the while the villain isn't terrible, the movie definitely is. It's too cartoony for it's own good and some of the dialog is silly.

Okay, this is far from good. Like, it's reaches some insane levels of corny and I cringe watching it, but it still has some redeeming qualities. The upbeat and silly tone does work for the film, it's just too damn silly sometimes and it becomes a hinderance. Dr. Doom is laughably miscasted, but the costume design was okay. The actors are the film's best asset, everyone is fairly solid given the horrid script. I mean, it's good for a few laughs, and if you like to cringe, here ya go.

Picture any movie Marvel has released since 2001. Mash all those together, and then scrape off the remains of any probable quality. Then you've got something slightly better than this movie.

The Fantastic Four is a mostly mediocre and campy super hero film that is made entertaining by the fact that it isn't trying to be a super-serious character drama like most comic-inspired movies of the last decade. There is some simple fun in here, it's just not very smart. Pretty good!

This movie could have been worse. The story was passible, but the miscasting of Alba as Sue Storm and the changing of Von Doom from leader of a country to leader of a corporation. Some of the special effects are very good, but most are only marginal. Of all of the recent Marvel comic book adaptations, this is the least impressive.

While Fantastic Four is nearly impossible to enjoy as a good movie, it is rather enjoyable as a bad one. In fact, it may be the most enjoyable bad film I've seen this year.

I'm a sucker for superhero flicks (I even liked Hulk and Daredevil), but this is too much. The script is beyond awful: the 4 get inconceivably amazing powers and proceed to pull sitcom pranks on each other while sitting and waiting for their powers to go away. A movie needs action, and characters that DO THINGS. This one has neither. Doesn't help that they scrap Doom's character from the comics and make him a Norman Osborn cut-out. It's fun to laugh at, if that counts for anything.

In stiff competition for the title worst Marvel movie. Oddly enough, I didn't mind the acting, which is usually a bigger problem in goofy, campy, cheesy movies like this. Instead, the blame seems to lie entirely on the script. Yes, I understand origin stories are difficult and require exposition, but 90 minutes of ham-fisted, manufactured interpersonal conflict for a 7 minute fight scene is pretty inexcusable.

So. Johnny Storm AKA The Human Torch is sitting next to Ben Grimm, who has turned into The Thing, right? Well, Johnny takes a long hard look at Grimm and goes: "Where are your ears?" After that the movie's shortcomings were largely forgiven (and there be many).

The Mediocre 4 are more like it, what with weak conflict and characterization, particularly in the case of a weaksauce Doctor Doom who does zero justice to his comic book counterpart.

Script is baaaad. Lots of nonsense here, too, especially the relationship between Doom and Invisible Woman (who didn't even bat an eye at his being a villain!) and the ending--why would the onlookers clap and cheer on the Fantastic Four when the bad guy hadn't even gotten around to doing anything, y'know, evil? Everything about this movie is terrible now that I think about it, but I watched it with my dad to chill out after marathoning Deadwood, so I didn't hate it as much as I should've.

The seeming "Problem Children" of the Marvel film Universe get an adventure streets ahead of the abortive 90s attempt, and in its early stages the film has a goofy charm to it, with lines (and line readings) which are (intentionally?) laughably absurd, but still enjoyable. Suffers in retrospect from some dated CGI work, and a second half which devolves into never ending action spectacle, but it's still a reasonably good time, with a game cast acquitting themselves adequately.

Far from what we know it could have been given the source material, it needlessly hinders itself by creating terrible dialogue and making bad casting decisions. Just an all around misfire. One of the few from Marvel related properties but none the less a misfire.

Enjoyed Chris Evans', but needed a bigger name as the good doctor. Was like it didn't know if it was trying to be a blockbuster with some seriousness like Spider-Man 2 or try to throw in some laughs like a lighter version of the Superhero Meat-Grinder we've seen recently. If they'd made up their mind it might've gone better. Laclustre as it is though.

A waste of talented and... less talented actors alike. Chronologically, Fantastic Four is in the middle of the long line of superhero movies that we've been treated to in the last six or seven years. However, it caters to the lowest common denominator. What you see is what you get.

Actually not a big dissapointment like some of the other Marvel films. However, the whole film built up to the unavoidable clash with Dr. Doom which lasted all of 5 minutes. A tad anticlimactic. Overall well done though, and it looks like a sequel might be in the making.

This movie is terrible. It's missing that key element of a super hero movie where the heros actually figure out and hone their powers. Saving four firemen doesn't cut it. The acting is bland and there just really isn't anything there per se. Alot of talking and special effects.

Cheesy. I mean, you could put this movie on a pizza. Oh god, so, so, so cheesy. While not being one of the worst comic book movies, it's just cheesy and full of cliches that in 2015 we will look back at and say, "oh, that's the typical 2k comic book movie." And I really hated what they did to Doom, says the Doom fanboy.

I remember Keith David saying about the original Fantastic Four made-for-TV movie "2 hours of your life you will never get back". Despite the hundreds of millions of dollars Marvel and Fox pumped into this, it had the same effect as the first flop. PS The Thing looks like a turd with legs.

Definitely a movie for the converted. If you're not a fan of the old Lee/Kirby comics, you may not appreciate what this film is doing. If you are, this is a pitch-perfect recreation of those stories, down to the domestic squabbling and cheesy storylines. Certainly not one of the great superhero film, but it's nice to see a director so in love with his source material.
