Faraway Eyes

Faraway Eyes starts with an insufferable monologue from Karl, making the film that follows comparatively much better. There are a few interesting ideas, a few amusing moments, but Greenberger's screenplay struggles through the crawling-paced romantic set-up of the 2nd act in a a film that didn't need to be over 2 hours long. The cast is decent, but no performance really stands out. At times it feels like the the film is trying to be profound, but it fails; nevertheless, it's still worth a watch.
