Father and Daughter

The animation is very nice and I really like the film's concept, but it's set up in such a forced and unjustified way that I couldn't shake the feeling of the director sitting there trying to make the viewer feel sad.

Seriously impressive. Comes out of nowhere and with very little actually going on manages to tell a very powerful story.

Unlike everyone else on the planet, I didn't enjoy this.

Quite sad and beautiful...

overly confected short film still manages to be affecting. the animation of these sorts of things also tend to be artistically superior to almost anything released commercially.

My favourite animated short, a thing of beauty.

Shining example of one of the incredible human flaws: that we care so much more for what isn't there than what is.

Aesthetic, symbolic, nostalgic.

A rather oversimplified story sees a father and daughter go on a bike ride, the father leaves by boat, and the daughter spends many years riding bikes and becoming an old woman. I liked the ending, when the woman discovers her father's boat and turns into a young girl again, but felt that the film had too much nothingness in its middle - apart from lots of bike riding. The animation style is ok for a student film but not particularly face-melting.

4/9/9 - Genuinely charming and emotional and incredibly beautiful animation and art.

If you like haikus, you would also like this short animation. A blurry and pastoral ode to the deceased.

Has some flaws that, if pushed a little further, would have lead to this being far less, but now largely stayed covered by the overpowering, dominant sentiment stemming from the whole.

Incredibly touching minimalist animation. I absolutely adored the ending.

There's only so many of these dialogue free water-colour animations with simplistic maudlin stories that you can watch before realising it's the same thing over and over but guaranteed people will love it

It always amazes me how people can get such great emotional value into 7minutes, and this one even raises the bar for that skill.
