Fauve

Simple and effective, but not terribly ambitious short film that perhaps goes a little too much for easy sentiment.

There's a bit in here that's aesthetically interesting but that I'm not sure really works in context: a series of tricky shots that play with scale, so we're not sure whether we're looking at a close up of cracked ground or a long-shot of rugged terrain until a human figure comes into frame. Apart from that, this is a credible and affecting portrayal of lost innocence, boyish play-aggression giving way for the first time to real consequence and loss.
