Ugh, Harold Lloyd can actually be unfunny!

Tragically, the move to sound marked the end for Lloyd, and while F.F is an improvement on Welcome Danger, it fails to entirely convince nonetheless. What saves it from the scrapheap is a funny and creative variation on the death-defying climb of Safety Last, only this time Lloyd is hanging off a flimsy scaffold. Until that point, the film is only intermittently amusing and lacks any kind of narrative or comedic momentum. Like Welcome Danger, it probably should have been released as a silent.

Insane climax but otherwise unwatchable film.
