Felix the Cat: The Movie

Wretched from start to finish. Terrible animation, annoying voiceovers, and an impossibly complicated and nonsensical story. It's like being high without the fun.

One of the most peculiar films I have ever come across, a total oddity. Worth watching just for the unique experience. Not a satisfactory experience, but most certainly an experience.

What's hilarious with this movie is I used to like it as a kid. But returning to it, I see how flat it falls. What's with the horrible, HORRIBLE, shoddy, cheap animation? And that dinosaur that appeared for three seconds, said a Marlon Brando line, then disappeared? What the hell, man?! What the hell were these people on?!

I was maybe 4 years old when I saw this, and even then I wondered what the hell I'd just watched.

It feels like a window into a world with a Star Wars-esque level of lore, but all we get to see is the Holiday Special. Full of constant, confusing motion and noise, with little to no sense of cause and effect, it somehow makes eighty minutes feel like more than two hours. It's just too much everything.

A late sexploitation movie with some great gags. really amusing.

The storyline isn't anything special, it's just a kids fantasy movie. But it's worth watching for the animation and general bizarre atmosphere. A lot of bright, oddly blurred colors with a strange hazy feel enhanced by the audio where every voice-over sounds far away. A serious acid trip.
