Felt

Eh. Was gonna say I generally like stuff like this - like Toad Road, and Entrance - and saw it's by the same guy who did Toad Road. This had some great ideas, and the first 10-15 minutes had me thinking I'd maybe found a new favorite movie, but then it went nowhere and fell flat.

It looks good, but that's all.

I didn't end up liking this as much as I was thinking I would. Felt contains a lot of themes that appeal to me (gender stuff), and a general style of filmmaking that I enjoy (arty mumblecore realism, probably some improv), but midway it changes from subtle to obvious and crude, and by the cheesy ending there isn't a semblance of complexity left. Which saddens me because Amy was amiable and this had the potential of getting a really good score from me.
