Fighting Caravans

Gary Cooper was decent but he's not that good at comedy. Lili Damita's accent was distracting and didn't enhance the story plus she and Gary Cooper failed to have any chemistry. The whole thing just felt a little lackluster.

Gary Cooper was digestible as the goofy hero, but the ones that really stole the picture and made this worth wild was Ernest Torrence & Tully Marshall as his drunken scout mentors. They stole every scene they were in with their drunken comedy. Especially Torrence, who sadly would die just 2 short years later. Other then that the film had some nice scenery, but was way short of the visual greatness in the The Big Trail (1930) which had a similar wagon train theme the year before.
