Reminds me of F13: The Final Chapter as they understand the appeal of the series and play to its strengths. Absurdly fun for something with so little substance. Actually, most things this fun seem to be of little substance. Nothing wrong with fun. I'm a fun guy. Pieces falling into place.

When the window fell on that annoying kid, I was all like, "YEAH!" but then I was like all "hell no!" because I learned about physics from sesame street, which allowed me to figure that it takes a little more to turn a kid into applesauce. I think the gore would have been cooler had they stuck with the actual science. But squib packs are cheap i guess.

This is the part where you stop caring about the whole death has a plan thing and just continue watching to see what ways to die the writers could come up with.

While more exuberant and spectacular than the first with long twisting chase/crash scenes, the idea feels less fresh as very little has been changed from the original. The deaths are even more dramatic, usually involving either decapitation or impalement, but the periods inbetween feel more like padding than anything simply designed to lead characters from one gory splatter scene to another. It's still an enjoyable, brainless watch but it's full of goofs and doesn't quite match up to the first.

For what it lacks on the original (wit in the script, star power in the cast), this sequel makes up for with the most wildly creative death sequences that this franchise has to offer. The opening number, the highway crash sequence, is a real spectacle. Of course the movie is pretty much trash outside of the action sequences, but they're good enough for the movie to be mildly recommendable so long as you know what you're getting yourself into. It's fun, if nothing else.

Feels original, which is unusual for a horror movie. Jumps through a lot of hoops for a goofy ending but a complete blast all the way through.

Abject filmmaking and an insulting follow-up to a popular original. The first film was a decent weirdo latecomer to the teen horror cycle, then they spent three years making this pile of garbage, and threw it in the faces of unexpectant fans who were just happy to see a sequel. One of only a handful of films that I've walked out on and successfully claimed my money back because someone in the box office had seen it and felt bad enough about it.

It turns out that a film can be good solely on the strength of a fun concept mixed with interesting kills. The opening highway scene is something that has stuck with me for 20 years.

An uninspired sequel to the original Final Destination. This time it appears Death can pretty much do whatever the hell it wants. Where the original crafted inventive "accidents" for the victims of Death, this one basically just blows people up the whole time.

Continuing with a series that did something new and fresh is never easy. Final destination 2, however, does the job acceptably. Emphasising on the splatstick humor and mechanics behind the fate rollback, Final Destination 2 is maybe not revolutionary or as inovative as #1, but it makes an entertaining story nonetheless.

Bereft of any logic or suspense. The opening scene is well done, but let's not overstate the creativity of 'just about anything malfunctioning or catching fire for no reason'. I pretty much expected the sky to fall down on the frustratingly inept (and inane) characters at any point. Fast forward between 'accidents' and watch this in 20 minutes, it will make no difference to your enjoyment of it.
