The plot makes little to no sense, and what does make sense isn't very good. The visuals are quite stunning, and the vocal cast is loaded with talent, so the movie is easy on the eyes and the ears. But it's just so empty. Has absolutely nothing to do with Final Fantasy, and that's saying a lot for a game series where each chapter is completely unrelated. No real reason to see this other than watching a rich company bankrupt itself in the name of photo-realism. This movie killed Squaresoft.

If only they had taken the thousands of hours spent on animating her hair and had applied them instead to the story...

Pretty, but not much in the way of anything else.

I enjoyed this film a lot at first but I think the novelty has finally ran out and I'm just not as drawn in as I once was.

Beautiful CGI but lackluster story having nothing to do with fantasy, it really should have been called Final Sci-Fi, really drags it down. Although the actors do good jobs the story keeps this as a mediocre movie.

While the graphics here are superb, any seblance of a plot is purely coincidental. Good vocal talent is wasted on a script that stinks.

Really a nothing movie, only engaging for the first 10 minutes while your brain absorbs the amazing computer animation done here. After that, it's tangled up in a sea of Japanese pseudo-intellectual environmentalist mumbo-jumbo, leaving an incomprehensible plot and characters with little connection to any sort of reality. I feel embarrassed for Steve Buscemi that he did this.

Takes bits from FF7 and FF9's storylines, and shifts them to some random sci-fi setting. Instead of, you know, a fantasy setting. And then adds characters for whom it's psychologically impossible to care any less about. Fair enough, then.

More like a substanceless tech demo of a graphics program than a real movie.

The once really amazing CGI in this movie that took hours and hours per frame to render on a massive render farm is now duplicatable in real-time.
The movie itself is solid. It's an interesting sci-fi film with a nice ending.

Hey, Sony! How about next time you invest millions of dollars into a video game to movie project, you actually PLAY the game first, so you could... oh, I dunno.... Have SOME idea what it's about! Jeez... Regardless of content, FF:TSW is visually stunning and the voice acting is great. I think that makes up for it.

I dont know the game, but this animation is totally boring. Even with the technical qualities, this is not what really matters, the story and the dialogue is so boring.

Parts of the plot escaped me, and it didn't always seem well-explained to me, but it was still a good, surprisingly touching and emotional movie. The characters are really expressive.

If it wasn't for having the name "Final Fantasy" on it and being full of amazing CGI, no one would have gave a shit about this film. Uninteresting plot and boring characters makes this a waste of several millions of dollars which would have been better spent handing out cocaine to the audience, then at least they would have had a good time.
