Broderick, in his Election flawed & frustrated everyman mode, is great, but 2 much else falls short. The entire movie feels like something that read well but fizzled in the translation 2 screen. The script is often genuine & unpredictable, but there's a wildly uneven tone throughout as starkly dramatic moments jarringly crash in2 comedic ones. And although the jokes r usually unforced & organic, they usually land w/ a thud.

Broderick in his older years is not really producing movies that I would quantify as excellent. That makes me sad.

I am not impossible to touch. Uh. Wasn't bad. One tries to redeem the other and they both fail. And they both try again.

Finding Amanda is a decent film, with a decent script, that falls short of making an impact. Broderick, Snow and Coogan are great, and the film is strongest when they are leading the scene. However, too often are other characters involved that bring down the pacing and tone; with the 3rd being emblematic of this. Luckily, the film ends on a positive note, surmising the theme that sometimes you can only help yourself.
