Good, old-fashioned fast-forward-the-talky-bits 'kung-fu' film.

The lack of plot didn't really matter when Jet Li is just beating the shit out of everyone.

Jet Li remaking Bruce Lee...I was nervous when I put it in, but damn was I pleased, it is so good and its almost identical to the original.

Fuck the plot. This is pure, raw, unadulterated Martial Arts at it's best. None of the watered-down Hollywood-Jet Li-bullshit.

Jet Li in form kicking ass. This was a remake of Fist of Fury but this is the film that made Jet Li a superstar. The choreography in this is excellent. The film suffers from its rather low budget but there is still so much heart in this which makes it memorable.

In these films it's all about the quality and number of fights. I wasn't disappointed in this regard. Li kicking ass is a sight to see, and the final battle is pretty sweet. The story itself is basic as hell, plus filled with racists. Err, so yeah, there's that.

This is an excellent, exciting action movie. Jet Li is outstanding in the lead role. The action scenes are fantastic and the plot is also interesting. The final fight scene is amazing. I highly recommend this movie.

As a character focused film this would be pretty good, Jet Li is sympathetic and the arc his character follows is a pretty good one. But, even though he's the lead, this film isn't about him. It's about martial arts as a proxy for the Sino-Japanese war and full of really dumb moments and, worst of all, a really serious patriotic tone that ironically makes the stakes of everything feel lower rather than higher. It has fun moments, but emphasizes all the wrong things. Also that soundtrack, ugh.

The fights are amazing, true, but the rest of the movie is fairly dull. The protagonist is too good, rejecting all racism as per the film's overall message. Bruce Lee let his anger overwhelm him and it made for a more powerful movie when he did it.

An amazing remake of a movie that I thought could never be topped. Jet Li vs Yasuaki Kurata is one of the best fights ever.

My initial reaction to anyone remaking a Bruce Lee movie is revulsion. I'm not Jet Li fan to begin with but he makes this movie his own and indeed improves upon the original in certain areas. The question still has to be asked. Why remake a chop suey flick? Aren't the plots essentially the same in all of them?

Too bad the post production crew didn't put as much into it as the actors.

One of the better Jet Li films. Admittedly, it has no coherent story, but it doesn't try to shove that ridiculous plot down your throat at every corner. It's there if you really want to focus on it, but for the most part this film is just Jet Li kicking all sorts of ass in a gloriously filmed setting.

Leaps and bounds over the original due mostly to improvements in film making. Lee was more intimidating, but Li is very, very talented.

Great retake on the Bruce Lee film of old. Jet Li fits the Chen Zhen persona well and kicks some major ass. It's a shame Gordon Chan went on to direct shit like The Medallion.

This movie has the most amazing fight sequences ever filmed, nothing comes close. It's better than the Bruce Lee film, and the fights are so amazing the plot scarcely matters.

Typically crappy writing but quite outstanding fight scenes both in terms of choreography and directing. If this is a takeoff on Fist of Fury then no one but the most nostalgic could deny Fist of Legend's superiority in every respect.

I admire that this remake doesn't just retread Bruce Lee's iconic second film, especially the way it addresses racial tension between the Chinese and Japanese. The fighting style is more comedic and less realistic, but nonetheless fun to watch.

Jet is playing Chen Zhen, a Chinese student studying engineering in Japan. Of course, nationalistic fervor leads a bunch of young Japanese hotheads to confront Chen Zhen in class, and despite the entreaties of Yamada Mitsuko (Nakayama Shinobu), Chen Zhen's pretty young Japanese girlfriend, they spring to the attack. And I thought teachers were respected in Japanese culture? Well, heck, what else is he supposed to do? He takes them apart without breaking even half a sweat, naturally.

Há 25 anos Lutar ou Morrer estreava em Hong Kong. Woo-Ping Yuen é o mais absoluto mestre de sua arte, não à toa até os ocidentais se renderam ao seu estilo. BlurayRip VXT.

Story was bizarre, didn't make much sense. Fights were ok but final fight was way too slow, very disappointing. 2nd last fight was best of the film. But overall not too bad. It's cool to see Yuen Woo Ping develop his art over the years. The wire fu and choreographer was cool but key fights had too many pauses and ran too slowly.
