If Agatha Christie had ever written a Western, maybe this is what it would have looked like. A well-constructed mystery, with a fun bunch of suspects, but ultimately pretty forgettable. My biggest complaint is that the killer is unmasked too early and the pay-off at the end is a bit lame. Other than that, it's fine.

A slasher western! A little bloated, but skillfully directed with an amazing cast. Roddy McDowall makes an odd cowboy, but that works to his advantage in crafting such a conniving character.

A different kind of western, with a killer stalking a group of gamblers. Pretty cool stuff.

More like 5 Card Dud, amirite? The cast phones it in (except maybe McDowell, who's miscast). And as for the direction, if IMDb didn't assure me that Hathaway lived until 1985 I would have assumed his corpse directed the movie.

Murder mystery framed in a western with all the standard cliches. Martin and Mitchum both rely on personas developed in other movies.
