Dennis Hopper puts in a good performance as a former revolutionary-turned-con man-turned fugitive turned capitalist, but the movie has no idea what to do with the character, or anything else for that matter. For large stretches of time the movie wanders between being a mawkish Sixties sentimentality-fest and a horrendously paced fugitive thriller.

A goofy and inoffensive film -- not what you'd expect to say of a Dennis Hopper film, eh? The pairing of Hopper and Kiefer Sutherland works well, though the film itself is forgettable. It's not going to hurt you if you watch it, but it doesn't matter if you do.

Blah. This movie does make an interesting pairing with "1969", another Keifer Sutherland film, however.

Decent comedy. Dennis Hopper is the whole show. Too damn bad that that prediction at the end didn't come true: "Once we get out of the 80s, the 90s are going to make the 60s look like the 50s"

I'd bet even the director did not really know what to make out of this. It's not funny enough for a comedy and the storyline is so ridiculous and unbelievable it certainly isn't a drama. Hopper and Sutherland both keep switching from some good acting to very bad overacting. A mess, really.
