Flora & Ulysses

It's nothing special, but I did enjoy it for what it was. I thought the girl playing Flora did a good job, and the cast in general was good. The CGI wasn't very good, but it didn't bother me too much. While I did enjoy it, I feel like this will be mostly forgettable.

Flora & Ulysses is a decent, well-produced, family film. Lawler does a great job. There's something mildly cathartic about watching Schwartz run around like a kid. Pudi goes full Cage. Yet problems inherent in the screenplay keep the film from rising beyond forgettable. There's the hypocrisy of a Disney film that is anti-authority and pro small creators, while using the Star Wars theme as a doorbell. Also the film lacked the emotional resonance it was actively pursuing. It's still cute though.

A touch on the bland side, but not without some family friendly charm and solid performances.

Everyone else gets super-powers these days so why not a squirrel. It's your typical Disney family adventure, all inoffensive and cute. The animal CGI looked nice enough, and that crazy cat made it for me. Still nothing super stand-out, even in the family film genre.
