Often obnoxiously maudlin, but Daniels makes this at least watchable. The fact he nails Paquin in The Squid and the Whale nine years later also makes it amusingly creepy.

One of the ultimate "feel good" movies ... Sure if you start pulling it apart its slow, overly sentimental, predictable, but for me, it seems to tug on the right heart strings. The "spikey" and difficult tone of the relationship between Daniels and Paquin, the amazing cinamatography ... the sunset scenes are breathtaking ... and the sheer sense of joy at man actually being decent to his fellow planet dwellers means that for this overly-emotional 59 year old, it always brings a tear.

One of the best animal movies. Ballard's best work.

Not Ballard's best, but solid family entertainment. As is often the case with Ballard, the most memorable parts of his film are breathtaking scenes of nature photography, in this case shots of migrating geese filmed from the vantage point of an Ultralight aircraft. This is a charming film, but *Winged Migration* is the very best film in which an Ultralight is used to photograph birds as they migrate.

Super-cheesy but has some nice scenery, liked more than I feel I should, a guilty pleasure.

Outstanding movie. Baffled by the amount of bad scores for it here. Loved it.

Anna Paquin is a young girl who becomes "mommy" to a bunch of geese and then tries to find away to fly them home. Ahhh sentiment.

A perfectly charming family movie with lots of beautiful scenery and aerial shots, and lovely cinematography. Some of the supporting characters and themes are a bit cheesy, but the father-daughter bond and surrogate mother themes are handled nicely. A nice memento of a few actors who were at their peak in the 90s.

Quite slow, but okay. Watch it once if you must, but don't bother too again!

So terribly sentimental and cheesy. Not necessarily bad but just over-the-top (and not in a good way).

Very cheesy, can get quite dull at times. Still good enough though.

Sweet and well-made movie. Daniels and Pacquin have very nice father-daughter chemistry. The film photography is lovely - there are some scenes that take place in Summertime dusk that are sublime.

20/9/2010 cheesy & übersweet feel-good movie. Don't expect seeing anything that requires thinking. Score is not so much for the qualtiy of the movie, but for the positive feeling this movie left me

Has, like, no pacing. Feels like a 3 hour movie. One you wanna keep watching, mind you. Was pretty glued to the screen for the past 2 hours. It's so beautifully shot. And so full of 90s cheese and I love it. I saw this in the theater when I was 9 (and haven't seen it since), so I wouldn't put it past me to be a little biased. But, if I'm being honest, I don't get all the h...I mean, lack of appreciation. There's tons of way cheesier, way sloppier movies that get a lot more credit.
