Not nearly as bad as everyone said it would be. I don't know why everyone is saying that the animation is so bad. Maybe they all read the same review. I thought it was a cute idea, although they could have shelled out a little more for some decent voice actors.

Flatly animated and indifferently scripted, Fly Me To the Moon offers little for audiences not comprised of very young children.

It was actually not bad animation. Okay, the budjet and knowhow was not on Pixar level, but the story was worth to see. Main animation was a bit phlegmatic, though there was good scenes, interesting camera drives and some good characters, like all Russians. And I just loved the Strauss dance in zero gravity.

7th worst movie of the year and worst script of the year. Just flat out horrible. Grade: F

There's a reason why there's a famous film called Apollo 13, and not one called Apollo 11. Though the first moonwalk was an incomparable moment in U.S. and world history, the voyage itself was relatively uneventful. In choosing that spaceflight as a backdrop for their story, the makers of Fly Me to the Moon took on the challenge of making an adventure movie out of a story surprisingly low on perilous moments. Mostly silly and poorly animated with a couple cute moments. Not really worth the time. I did enjoy the soundtrack though!

"Fly Me to the Moon is in 3D because, without the glasses-required effects, not even a three-year-old would sit through it." - Nick Schager

This was actually my first 3D feature, so for the first 5 minutes i enjoyed myself admiring the new technology - even if it had some problems and the animation was poor. But yeah, the films is just terrible. Plus it's hard to swallow the American patriotism and the evil Russians. The kids won't get the Cold War context, so what's the point?

Its crude computer animation is saved only by its innovative 3-D tricks, carefully planned out by director Stassen, fresh off his duties on "Wild Safari 3-D." Nevertheless, preschool jokes, not-so-clever "2001" references, and an awkward script that mixes kiddy fun with sterile technical information about the mission ultimately bring about its failure to launch.

Suitable for 4 year olds. This is really pretty awful, with bad writing, mostly bad animation (the human characters look stupid and move about as slowly as the astronauts on the moon), and bland, unimaginative character designs. Out of nowhere they throw in a plot involving evil Russian flies for no good reason. The 3D effects are sometimes very cool, and I suppose there are a couple of cute things, but it's not worth the time. Take the kids to Wall-E instead.
