Sparks fly and cultures collide in this romantic comedy about a casual night of passion that turns into the love of a lifetime. Matthew Perry stars as Alex Whitman, a New Yorker sent to Las Vegas to oversee a construction project. There he meets Isabel Fuentes (Salma Hayek), and some serious chemistry brings them together for one night. But Alex doesn't see Isabel again until three months later, when he learns she is pregnant. On a whim and prayer, he proposes. However, there's more to marriage than a Vegas chapel and an Elvis impersonator, as Alex and Isabel soon learn. (imdb)

So it's basically Matthew Perry playing Chandler (he even used the "putumpum tsshhh" joke, jeeez), dropping some occasionally funny one liners, and Salma Hayek yelling and gibbering a lot in Spanish. This film's so bad, it makes wanna build a machine, which would allow me to enter the film, slap everyone in the back of the head and say: "No, that's NOT how it's done !!!"

I'd rank this even lower if I could, but I just want to prove to my wife people hate this movie more than I do.

A perfectly average romcom without any wit or anything close to charm. Still that actually helps it. It's a near pefect time waster, you won't feel anything after you watch it, positve or negative. And that's a plus in my book.

Sooooooo bland. This movie didn't give me anything to look forward to! I kept patiently waiting for something to pop in and tell me that this wasn't going to be a total waste. That something...stood me up.

Not a big fan of romance movies, but as they go it wasn't HORRIBLE. Feel free to watch it if that's your thing, but I doubt you'll rush out to buy it or anything.

I watched this flick with half an eye purely because of Salma Hayek and Siobhan Fallon. There was nothing more besides them to see.

I feel I must explain, I grew up with 3 female cousins living next door back when Friends was the hit show on television. That's the only reason I MAY have watched this.

As far as romantic comedies go, this is a typically inoffensive, idiotic and boring production. The performances put in by the leads aren't bad, but the film totally lacks any substance and quickly falls into the pattern of a stream of meaninglessly intertwined scenes held thinly together. It does have some redeeming aspects and is by no means a total disaster, but there's so much here to dislike and so much that could have been corrected that it is very hard to get much enjoyment out of it.

Utterly embarrassing for all involved. Yet, inexplicably, occasionally charming.

A light-heartedly racist movie about a guy who marries a weak, manipulative bitch with no job prospects.

Did I believe Salma Hayek and Matthew Perry as a couple? No. But they're still fun together.

Painful fish-out-of-water comedy from the usually charming Hayek and Perry.

Gets smeared beneath a schmaltzy mess of lukewarm romance, drab drama, and halfhearted comedy. Harmless, I guess, but in no way worthwhile.

Taken for what it is, this is Dare I Say, "cute". Maybe I was expecting something much more lifeless and drab, but there are merits to the film's trite veneer. You could do much worse in this genre than this.

Not bad, I found myself really getting into the characters and the story. And also, although Matthew Perry often gets criticized for playing the exact same character in every movie, he was much more of an arrogant prick in this one. Oh, and Salma Hayek? Hot.

In a perfect world, Salma Hayek agrees to be tied up naked and smeared all over with cream cheese while Alex's friends and family laugh and throw bagels at her. Why is so much fantasy and ridicule involved in romance films? Is it possible to attempt humor without being so stupid? To be fair, Romance is film's weakest genre and is often too easily manipulated...maybe it has something to do with the audience? Speak up, guys. End the cycle and take your $20 on date night, elsewhere.

I've always had a soft spot for Salma Hayek, and she is beautiful in this movie. Matthew Perry was alright but there was not much chemistry between them. The pacing is slow, some of the dialog was lame, and it is short on action, but it has a few sweet and cute moments and is sometimes humorous. Watchable but not that good. I never got invested in the characters. It starts out good but looses momentum. The parent characters were ridiculous.

Nobody in this movie acts like real human beings. I can accept a little bit of that since ... you know ... it's a movie, but when the plot only works because every decision the main characters make is plain mystifying, it starts to get to be too much. I'm not surprised that Perry didn't have a film career. He kind of works as part of a larger ensemble on "Friends", but left to his own devices here, he's startlingly unlikeable. Tomas Milian is in this movie. I sort of liked that.

If you looking for a movie to relax, with humor, may enjoy this simple and modest romantic comedy. But it is the kind of film in that it adds nothing, in a way that can irritate.
