Much better than expected - Segel is the man. The dracula rock opera was beyond badass and I am now convinced he will make a great muppet movie. It's also like the perfect movie to watch with a bunch of friends.

There might be a good number of laughs throughout the movie, but nothing compensates for such lousy film-making. It relies primarily on shocks for entertainment, sadly something which only seems to work half of the time levaing Forgetting Sarah Marshall with the full exposure of an uneventful plotline, generally mediocre performances and shallow characters. Surprisingly Russel Brand is great here, actually putting in the best performance of the movie, even if I still think he's a prick.

I was surprised at the interest 40 Year Old got when it came out, it was more or less like every other romcom for me with a slightly extraordinary plot. With Knocked-Up I got more into the humor, homages and characterization and Forgetting S.M. did it for me. These guys both stay in the safe zone of genre cinema and manage to pull it into enjoyable ride even if it's easily figurable for the most part. Celebration of geekness in a non Kevin Smithian way.

In real life no one would actually believe a girl like Mila Kunis would fall for the lead. This is more or less an Apatow movie with Apatow alumni but without Judd Apatow directing. You can expect a lot of the same humor. The funniest person in the entire movie is probably Bill Hader. The rest of the movie has the usual romantic comedy jokes and everything is very predictable and follows the standard Hollywood formula.

At times hilarious, but the funny bits aren't tied together in the best way possible. Judd Apatow is still the man, however. And kudos on the penis. That's a nice penis you've got there, Jason.

Segel is trying to turn your basic romcom into something better. At times he does it well but between those good moments there are too many boring and unfunny scenes. I wanted to like this movie but it's just missing something.

Following the tradition of the Apatow movies, it's outrageous, funny and has a heart. It's not the perfect comedy, some jokes fall flat and a couple are overdone, but for the most part it's really funny and as touching as it tries to be.

Jason Segel hardly misses when he gets enough time and resources, and this is no exception. Forgetting Sarah Marshall is one of the rom-coms that will make you as sad as much as it will make you laugh. The cast is amazing, and from a screen-writing perspective, Segel knocks it out of the park. A definite win.

Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd and Bill Hader remain in the background. Russell Brand (Aldous Snow) the popstar once again tried to keep it alive. Jason Segel exhibited a very uninspiring performance, he's not funny at all. I don't even see Kristen as an actress. And the Black Swan chick Mila Kunis was interesting. I was expecting to see a good movie with a cast like this, but unfortunately it was not. So in summary, thanks to supporting roles. You should try porn Jason, you don't have any material.

I'm glad they avoided the obvious tactic of making Sarah Marshall straight-out evil, in order to make the guy's choice simpler and give the audience an easy target to hate. Everybody's nicely flawed in this film, and the rewarding parts are the ones where characters learn to fix what's wrong. Side-note: this movie has more hilarious minor and supporting characters than any so far.

Truly, truly hilarious. Way better than anyone could've expected, and a real gem among all those lame romantic comedies. Get the best of Hawaii, Paul Rudd and some superb Crime Scene-parodies. And the VERY best from the female sex. That would be Mila Kunis.

Segel goes from funny Apatow bit-player to writing his own star vehicle, and has the unenviable task of following up Seth Rogen in doing so. The result doesn't score as huge as Knocked Up, but it does come close. The four leads are all great: Kunis adorably puts 'That 70s' behind her, and Bell and Brand bring a surprising amount of sympathy to their characters. Segel turns in star-making work, and the rock opera finale gives me hope for his Muppet movie. He's got a long career ahead of him.

First, this movie is hilarious (i usually watch the extended version too!), but it does not have the same kind of laughs that Superbad had, but it is ultimately a better movie than Superbad. But enough w/ SB comparisons this compares better to Knocked Up, which provides both a emotionally true story with laughs. Segel wrote a phenomenal script, with great jokes and story. I am VERY excited to see his Muppet movie (btw he pitched it to them, which makes me more excited) Heshould havea long career

I love this so much. I have never gone to see a movie and come off with every one of my expectation and hopes fulfilled, and even more. Jason Segel has done a marvelous job writing this. Predictable story, yes, but the comedy is fresh and clever, and the relationships and characters feel genuine and real. Also, the Dracula musical is one of the best things ever. I would so see that show. Might not be deserving of such a high score, but.. You might call this a guilty pleasure, I guess.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall is a funny comedy that's actually quite sweet when you get right down to it. The script is sharp, the characters deep and likable, and I can't say I was ever bored. It also switches some things up from the typical romantic comedy ending, which is always a good thing, even if you'll still probably figure out how it ends mid-way through. This is a good comedy that will probably be an enjoyable watch, although the opening scene is grossly misleading.

2. Jason Segel has some good comedic timing here and shows promise in his acting skills - which is great, because we saw more of him the coming years (The End of the Tour 'sob sob'). Not much chemistry between Segel and Kunis, but then again I am yet to see an actor have good chemistry with her. However, great chemistry in a couple of very entertaining interactions between Segel and Brand, which is probably the highlight of the film. Dracula was mildly entertaining too. Great support cast.

Remember when Jason Segel was considered a leading man, and Paul Rudd and Bill Hader were supporting characters? Weird times. Seriously though, I'm usually an apologist for these types of movies, but Forgetting Sarah Marshall is just so bland and boring, with the funny moments being too few and far between. Jack McBrayer's character and the Dracula puppet musical do most of the heavy lifting, because if I'm being honest not a lot else works here.

Uneven, overlong comedy works better as a whole thanks to winning and likable romance between Segel and Kunis (who is lovely). Occasionally feels too cluttered with characters, Brand and Bell are both too obnoxious, and the hit-to-miss gag ratio is about 1:1, but these flaws can't erase the surprisingly warm feelings engendered by the finale. Love the rock opera!

I don't have enough great things to say about this movie. Jason Segel is a name you'll be hearing for years to come, and his performance in this movie, as well as the script itself are two of the many reasons why. Mila Kunis breaks out of her That 70's Show cage and really becomes someone it's easy to fall in love with, and Kristin Bell is so convincing as a spoiled celebrity it makes you wonder. Russell Brand, though, is the breakout, stealing each scene he's in. My absolute favorite movie.

It's not without its flaws, mostly the character development and ending (which I'm convinced was written differently, and changed at the behest of the studio) but Jason Segel is definitely a talented writer, and the cast is all great in their roles. All round, a great movie, worth seeing, if only for Russell Brand's brill one-liners.

The serious moments are pretty awful, and the camera is generally locked in some pretty ugly shot counter shots; but the comic timing is really snappy, especially (thankfully) in the editing, and the jokes are mostly good, so it gets the most important thing right: to be funny. It made me laugh, so I liked it. Still, even the funniest comedies need some energy in their shot compositions.

It didn't have the occasional dragging that the 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up had, but it seemed to have a bit less morality and less resolution. Still, I loved it. The Freaks and Geeks alumni prove once again that they can do no wrong. Also, mad props for the Blacula.

Very funny and heartfelt movie by the same general team that brought us modern classics like Knocked Up and Superbad. While not as good as those, Sarah Marshall is wholly entertaining and nearly as witty when it tries its hardest. You just can't help but get a feeling this is the B-squad while you're watching it, but either way, they did a great job and there's nothing in the movie that is poor enough to make any hardened criticisms. More romantic than comedy (and the "comedy" isn't very witty; it's just pure shlock), I can't really compare this movie to the rest churned out by Apatow & crew. All I can say is that it's not what I expected, and I didn't get many laughs out of it. It felt very shoddily pieced together, as if they were coming up with the jokes as they were shooting. Honestly: I would have got bored of it if Kunis and Bell weren't so damn hot.
