Harmless 70s fun mixing political intrigue with murder, albinos and the Catholic church. Not to be confused with "DaVinci Code".

For some reason, in the 1970s, it was decided to mix suspense films with comedies. While a much better movie than Silver Streak, all the setup in the movie seems to go to waste as the movie tries to stay focused on an action-oriented plot. Nonetheless, a very funny, well-cast movie.

Relatively good-natured fun, though massively undercooked in terms of its Hitchcockian spoof gimmick.

Pretty fun. Chevy only falls down once, which is a shame, I guess. Dudley Moore is pretty hilarious and Goldie Hawn is lovely as always.

Its fun and goofy and mostly works. The weakest link aside for the dumb plot was Chevy Chase.

A fairly entertaining flick with a far-fetched plot of pope assassination that has a few good comedic moments. A quite solid cast does a fine job with the material.

Say what you will, this remains the finest use of Barry Manilow in a cinematic context. Also it's Billy Barty's finest performance.

Cute movie that now watches like it was preserved in a time capsule.

Aside from the pace-crushing romance, this was lots of fun with inventive gags and thrills abound. Loved Goldie Hawn, Dudley Moore, and how San Francisco's elite watching The Mikado with His Holiness was juxtaposed with a fun-loving old Japanese couple hijacked by "Kojak." But that final scene was just weird.

Cheesy plot, and cheap humor but survivable.

I laughed at the bits where the old ladies were playing vulgar Scrabble, and the retarded pope. But otherwise it's a forgettable romantic comedy. And it lost 10 percent because of Barry Friggin' Manilow.

This Hitchcockian noir/mystery with a comedic twist starts off promisingly, but runs out of steam at half point and ends up seriously dragging. At 120mins it's way too long and tries to fit comedy, thriller and romance into one film without deciding which one it wants to be. Hawn and Chase are great fun and work well together with Chase being more toned down than in his later films. With a clearer focus and some editing this might have been very good.

Hitchcock knock-off, but with more slapstick, still enjoyable.

There are good elements here, including Hawn and Chase. There are some solid thrills and laughs. But there are a handful of awkward moments that feel like a thriller parody, but don't play as such. And the romantic subplot bogs the whole thing down.
