I'm so mesmerized with by Hiroshi Shimizu world. His way of capturing the children's mind and how they make their observations in one frame. Truly a unique style which spellbinds one. I found Children in the Wind (1937) to have a more rounded charm, but Four Seasons of Children (1939) follows the same formula very closely and with an more adult tone as greed disrupts their idyllic surroundings, which makes this another fascinating gem from the great director.
