Frances Ferguson

Viewed July 26 '21. I have a review backlog of a few hundred things to get thru. None have made me laugh nearly as often as this dry-even-for-Byington comedy about a hot lady teacher banging an even hotter male student. If there's a takeaway, I think it's that sometimes stories like this are not really worthy of any particular scorn and just might be kinda sad/pathetic "so-called bad things" happening to kinda sad/pathetic people about which/whom it's perfectly fine to make some terrific jokes.

I don't really know ultimately what the message is supposed to be here, and I guess I don't really care. Personally I found enough going on that it doesn't matter. Offerman's terrific narration and the general framing device, alongside a strong lead performance form Kaley Wheless combine to make a very well made and easily watchable movie. As with Byington's previous films the short runtime doesn't hurt either.
