Toward the end of World War II, Russian soldiers pushing into eastern Germany stumble across a secret Nazi lab, one that has unearthed and begun experimenting with the journal of one Dr. Victor Frankenstein. The scientists have used the legendary Frankenstein's work to assemble an army of super-soldiers stitched together from the body parts of their fallen comrades -- a desperate Hitler's last ghastly ploy to escape defeat. If you're watching a WWII panzer-punk slashfest about a descendant of Dr. Frankenstein crafting the cadavers of dead soldiers into an army of low-tech mecha-nazis for the story, the dialogue, or the acting, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.

Cool creatures but it's less like a video game, more like an amusement park 3D ride. My takeaway? 2 trucks are barreling towards each other destined for a head-on collision. At the last second they swerve away from each other narrowly avoiding certain death, but both jack knifing, their trailers not as fortunate. Both drivers get out to assess the spillage. One yells, "You got teal in my orange!" and the other shouts back, "You got orange in my teal!"

What a weird movie. Worth it just for the bizarre creature designs.

Seriously uneven. I struggled through the first half, almost walking out, but my patience was rewarded with some of the best creature and costume design I've seen in a long time. The found footage gimmick is completely unnecessary here, but stick it out and you'll be rewarded with a, to quote the director, "Nazi R2D2".

If your "Well both sides are bad" argument doesn't include splicing together both sides brains into one person, I don't want to listen to it. It's not a good movie, the found footage is used more to hide the low budget. But the movie is at least wholly unique, the set design and monster design are amazing on the low budget. Every monster is horrific and fantastic. Overall, amazing potential and great practical work is wasted on a low budget and a first time director.

Sometime a movie is pretty bad but it's so crazy that it makes up for the badness.

The story is not really important here... I would even suggest skipping the first half but the second half is a blast! It starts too slow and then finishes too quickly once things actually get fun.

Dumb, hilarious, and crazy enough to make its short run time entertaining and doable. The camera guy is basically immune to any kind of damage, which makes for a really gimmicky and silly experience. It doesn't let you down on its promise to deliver weird Nazi super-soldier horror crap, though, so I guess I should give it some credit.

There's a lot of great ideas here but the found footage aspect is really forced and hampers it more than helps. While featuring a Russian perspective is novel for a mockumentary it also makes it all the more silly to have it be in English with Russian accents. In the end it plays out more like a video game with ineffective baddies or walking through one of those community haunted houses where stuff jumps out at you then simply paws playfully at you.

It was too serious to be fun and the acting and creatures were too silly and outlandish to be taken serious as a result it ended up being pretty boring.

Videogame-y, drags a bit, repeats a bit but the creatures and effects got a couple of giggles. "Communists, Nazis, Capitalists, they're all fucking mad!" - it's funny because it's true.

In some ways, something of a prequel to Hardcore Henry but with splatterhorror instead of action. The key draw is definitely the creature designs, which tap into the same unbridled creativity that gave us the first two Hellraiser movies--utterly demented monsters. There's not much of a story, but it's definitely a fun ride.

I thought I'd enjoy this more, tbh. It's not awful but besides the super cool monster designs and some amazing set pieces, it's not worth it.
